BIRTH of Kiersten Amber 3/23/08 - EASTER BABY

I was induced on Easter, March 23, 2008.
Started pitocin at 8am and they contractions just started. I got the epidural at 11am and was dilating nicely. I had my water broke at 1pm. I couldn't feel anything with the epidural, it was great. At 5pm I was 9 cm dilated and could start to push. I started pushing and about 45 minutes later my Dr. arrived, She noticed that Kiersten was sunny side up, so she was able to move her into the correct position. I only had slight back pain but really nothing other then that and it wasn't bad at all. At 7pm we could feel her head and the Dr. actually had me touch it, crazy thing. I had to have an episiotomy and also tore (which I couldn't feel) but at 7:27pm my perfect baby arrived into this world.

Kiersten Amber weighed in at 8lbs 5 oz. and 20 1/2" long. She was perfect. She is the most precious gift.

37, 38 & 39 wk appt

37 Wks - Not Dilated, 60% effaced. No real weight gain. Baby is doing great, head down. Measured right on schedule.

38 Wks - Dilated to 1cm and 80% effaced. Still not real weight gain. Baby doing well. The Dr. stripped my membranes to bring on labor quicker, lets hope it works. I have been feeling okay, just tired and VERY BIG.

39 Wks - Dilated to 1cm STILL and now 90% effaced. She stripped my membranes again hoping that it does something this time. She said that she can induce me the weekend of Easter or I can wait and have a different Dr. deliver my peanut since she will be on vacation. I decided to schedule the induction for Easter morning 3/23/08. I am having problems working now, so I have been working from home. Started having braxton hicks that come and go and some back pain.

A&H Work Shower

My friends in the other office threw me a shower, we had a great time. My mom was even able to fly in for the event. It was great to share that with her.

36 Wk Appt, Ultrasound and Belly

My appt went great. She measured a week ahead at 37wks, Heartbeat was in 140's. They did an ultrasound and she was showing off like crazy. It was so cute you could see her putting her fingers in her mouth and playing with her tongue. They figured her weight at 6lb 6oz. She is expected to gain 1/2lb per wk until birth.

My belly measured 43" now, she is growing very fast. My weight was 143lbs. So according to the Dr. I gained 28lbs, according to my scale I have only gained 22lbs or so.

Had my first internal and no real progress, not dilated yet.

34Wk Appt

I had my 34wk appt and everything went well.

Weight - Gained 23lbs according to their scale and about 16lbs according to my scale.
Belly - 40"

She measured a week ahead of schedule at 35wks. Her heartbeat was 140's. She is still head down and everything went great.

Next appt on 2/25 for 36wk Appt & U/s for measurements.

Baby Shower - Thank you so much!!!

Gifts from my first shower - You ladies are the best. We received such wonderful things and love everything.

32Wks & Appt

I had my 32wk appt and everything looked great. She measured right on target and her heartbeat was in the 150's. She said that she is not a big baby but we will get a better measurement on 2/25. She is head down still. I weighed in at 136lbs according to the Dr's scale.
